Extra Hot Chilli Chutney
Royal Navy ‘Harry Redders’ is an extra hot force to be reckoned with – the hottest sauce in the ‘standard’ navy range and a real firecracker. Scotch Bonnet chillis blended with Naga or ‘Ghost’ chillis from the Indian region of Assam make this a connoisseurs chutney, but be warned – it really packs a (delicious) punch!
Harry Redders (Or Harry Von Redders, Harry Redbats and many more similar expressions) is a ‘Jack Speak’ phrase used to describe something very hot. This could mean temperature or as in this case, the heat from a chilli. In fact in ‘Jack Speak’, Harry added to any expression adds emphasis.
As we’ve said above, whilst on its own this chilli packs a trident kick, it can be used (in varying quantities) to flavour a curry, stew, chilli con carne or even a ‘hotter than usual’ pasta dish.
