Akabanga – a larger bottle of the golden sauce (dispatched from the UK)
Akabanga is a hot chilli oil from Rwanda. It is the perfect ingredient for every chilli lovers kitchen. With Akabanga you only need a drip or two to give that fantastic kick. The recipe consists of 80% yellow chilli pepper (scotch bonnet) extract and 20% olive olive oil. It is one of the only chilli sauces available from Rwanda commercially.
Akabanga chilli sauce is known in Rwanda as pili-pili (peri-peri or piri-piri). Unlike other sauces from the continent, it does not contain birds eye chillies. This extra hot chilli sauce should not to be confused with the many varieties of golden chilli oil found on traditional Rwandan dinner tables (We have taken our own family recipes and used in these in our own sauces).
Each bottle contains 100ml of the chilli sauce, which lasts a while as only a drip or two is required with each plate.
