Hot Chilli Sauce
Royal Navy ‘Redders’ is a hot chutney, deep red and richly infused with chilli, onion and spices. This sauce is hot – but not overwhelming. Made with scotch bonnet chillies, fresh onions and red peppers, it’s milder than its feisty brother, (click here) but no less delicious. No meal is complete without this classic hot sauce as a condiment!
It’s name is a ‘Jack Speak’ expression coined by the Royal Navy to mean hot (both in physical heat and chilli heat). For this reason, we think its the perfect name for this chilli chutney.
This sauce is loosely based around our original eastern and central african chilli (‘pili pili’) sauces, the chilli aficionado will enjoy this sauce straight up as a dip – whereas, mere mortals may prefer it as a condiment or ingredient in cooking.
